A creative pupil at John Hunt Primary Academy in Newark has won a Christmas card competition to help spread festive cheer to members of the community at Barratt Homes’ Fernwood Village development.
The competition organised by the homebuilder was to design a Christmas card which would then be delivered to customers at the development off Phoenix Way.
After a range of creative entries were submitted, six-year-old Elsa was crowned the winner and presented with an art kit prize from the developer for her festive design.
Gemma Smith, a teacher at John Hunt Primary Academy, who is pictured with Elsa, said: “This was a lovely opportunity for the children to be creative and to produce a design for a card that would be sent out to homes within the local community.”
Mark Cotes, managing director at Barratt Homes North Midlands, added: “It was a pleasure to team up with John Hunt Primary Academy this year to create these wonderful Christmas cards.
“All the entries we received from the talented children were excellent, and we’d like to thank everyone who took part in the competition for their efforts. We hope Elsa will take great pride in knowing she has helped spread festive cheer in the local community.”
