Three Newark businesses have come together to showcase some of the town’s thriving independent concerns on Saturday in a live broadcast on social media.

Les Jones, creative director at Inizio Hair, Stodman Street; Kevin Guthrie, from Guthrie Therapy, Fernwood; and Fran Tricarico, of Future Cloud, Fernwood Business Centre; are behind the Challenge Anneka-style event on Saturday, from 11am, which highlights local businesses working together during the tough times of the coronavirus pandemic.

They said they will be showcasing “10 amazing things you can buy in Newark in 10 minutes” on a live feed via the Inizio Hair Facebook site. The idea behind the event is to show people how “amazing Newark retail is” and that the businesses are all safe to visit.

They added: “Please support us and join our live feed as we attempt a Challenge Anneka-style run around Newark’s amazing independents to see why so many people love coming to Newark

“We’d love as many people as possible to tune in to the live feed to help show support and spread the good work we are all doing.”
