Celebrating carers

Share:

Residents at Edingley Lodge care home celebrated National Carers’ Week by thanking staff for making a difference to the lives of those living in their care.

Carers Week is an annual event to raise awareness of caring, highlighting the challenges carers face, and recognising the contribution they make to residents, families and communities throughout the UK.

The theme for Carers Week was recognising and supporting carers in the community.

Staff at Edingley Lodge, run by Barchester Healthcare, were treated to a party — afternoon tea in the garden with live music, joined by residents, family and friends.

Residents also gave handmade cards and handwritten letters to carers with a small gift.

Jilu Stephen, general manager, said: “It is so wonderful to be able to celebrate Carers Week and thank our fantastic carers with a summer party in our garden, and to be able to welcome the community, relatives and friends. Everyone had such a fantastic day.”
