Businesses have a heart for hospice

Posted onPosted on 15th Feb

Beaumond House Hospice Care, Newark, have been delighted with the response to its corporate heart campaign, where local businesses have bought a blue heart to support the hospice’s work.

The hospice has thanked Newgate, Barcode Warehouse, Abbotts, Howdens, St Gobain, Derry Ltd, Motorfinity, RWE, Ellis Mather, Ambitions, P&G, London Eye and APT Legal among others for buying a heart.

Money donated for the hearts will be spent in the area to support local people.

There are still a limited number of hearts available. Companies can buy a heart from £250 — the amount that it costs to cover a day therapy patient to go to the hospice once a week for three weeks.

A total of £500 pays for two days’ care for a patient in Beaumond House; £1,000 is enough for a patient to remain in their home helped by Hospice at Home.

The campaign has been supported by Motorfinity, which is the official campaign sponsor.

Dean Skiba, chief operating officer at Motorfinity, said: “As a company, Motorfinity has, and always will, hold charity right at the heart of our business. It is what we do — we always try our utmost to support both national and local charities.”

The hospice says its hearts connect you directly to the love and support that Beaumond House gives to the community, day and night.

The hearts are made by local craftspeople using different materials and are 20cm in height and a similar size in width, something that can be easily put on a reception to show a company’s love for Beaumond House and support for the campaign.
