Businesses urged to buy a Hospice Heart

Posted onPosted on 30th Sep

Beaumond House Hospice Care, with the support of Motorfinity, has launched the next phase of its Keep Our Hospice In Your Heart campaign.

Following the success of the appeal, launched in April where individuals could buy a heart in memory of a loved one, the hospice is extending the offer to local businesses.

50 blue hearts, made by local craftspeople using different materials, depending on their expertise, will be available for local businesses to buy.

Catheryn Lowe, head of fundraising and marketing said: “We know how important Beaumond House is to many local companies, so we are extending our campaign to businesses. By buying and displaying one of our unique hearts you will demonstrate to your colleagues and customers, how much Beaumond House means to you.  The hearts connect you directly to the love and support which Beaumond House gives to the community day and night.”

Companies can buy a heart from £250 which will pay for a day therapy patient to come to the hospice once a week for three weeks; £500 pays for two days care for a patient in Beaumond House; £1,000 is enough for a patient to remain in their home helped by Hospice at Home.

Dean Skiba, chief operating officer at Motorfinity said:” It goes without saying that we are extremely proud of our ongoing partnership with Beaumond House Hospice Care, a hugely loved and respected local charity in our area, and we are so grateful for the hard work they do within our community.

“So many of us have been touched by loss and bereavement and, by joining in with the Heart Campaign, not only can we remember all our loved ones in our local community but also help the hospice recover from the detrimental impact of Covid 19 in every way possible.

“As a company, Motorfinity has, and always will, hold charity right at the heart of our business.  It is what we do:  We always try our utmost to support both national and local charities.

“After what has been an extremely difficult 18 months for Beaumond House Hospice Care, when events have been cancelled and their shops have been closed for significant periods of time, we are campaigning to raise much-needed funds for them.  They are at the heart of our local community and are reaching out for help in funding the crucial services they provide.  I am asking all companies to find that little pot of heart-felt gold and dig deep to support our amazing hospice at the very heart of our local community.”

Catheryn added: “We are incredibly grateful to Motorfinity for their support of this campaign, it will make a huge difference to us at Beaumond House.”

All businesses that buy a heart will also be invited to a thank you event at a local venue in the New Year.

The hearts will be 20cm in height and a similar size in width, something that can be easily put on a reception to show love for Beaumond House and support for the campaign.
