Newark-based architecture firm Studio G has achieved B Corp certification, as part of Gusto Group. The business is one of the first architecture firms in Nottinghamshire to achieve the certification, and only the 65th across the whole of the UK.
Studio G puts sustainability at the heart of every project. Achieving a B Corp certification further demonstrates its ongoing commitment to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives.
Edward Acres (pictured), principal architect, said: “Becoming a certified B Corp has been an important yet natural progression for Studio G.
“Alongside implementing sustainable practices in our design processes, our team dedicates time to projects that benefit a variety of social groups. This includes activities such as mentoring students and supporting both local charities and those further afield.
“We are incredibly proud of the work we have done so far and are in the perfect position to contribute to the growth and delivery of sustainable housing. I cannot wait to be part of this next phase of growth for Studio G.”
Studio G has been connected to Gusto Group for the last 15 years. The parent company is a group of B Corp accredited companies in the manufacturing, construction and architecture sectors, including Gusto Construction, Rototek, and Studio G.
The partnership grew with Gusto Group investing in the firm and using it as its in-house design and architecture practice. Now, Studio G is rejoining the group as an integral part of its structure and one of the three key companies within the Employee Ownership Trust.
Steff Wright, chairman and founder at Gusto Group, added: “Studio G adds immense value to Gusto Group. Its expertise in designing large housing developments creates a fantastic pipeline opportunity for clients to work with us from the initial concept stage, turning land into fully-realised projects.
“Studio G has developed a strong understanding of sustainability.”
