The Rotary Club of Ravenshead and Blidworth has presented its Citizen of The Year Award 2020 to a caring group in the community.
Sam’s Workplace, based at Preston Road, Rainworth, offers realistic work experience placements for people with a learning disability, together with independence and social skills.
It runs a small café, sweet shop and allotment, where opportunities for daily life and work skills, money skills, weights and measuring, catering, customer care and social interaction in a supported and friendly environment are available.
There is an enterprise workshop that trains the learners in making arts and crafts goods.
The award was presented to Debbie College and Vicky Williams, from Sam’s Workplace, by the president of the Rotary Club, Richard Lord.
