Posted onPosted on 15th Aug

The Magnus Academy in Newark reported a 97% pass rate for the 2024 post 16 cohort on A-Level results day.

Students studying subjects within the social sciences performed very well, particularly in subjects such as criminology and health and social care. 50% of the cohort are planning to further their education by attending university.

Anna Martin, principal said: “Despite being a very small cohort this year, our students certainly made their presence known around the academy, worked hard, and have achieved the grades that will enable them to take their chosen next steps.

“I would like to extend our very best wishes from everyone in the Magnus family, and to remind them that they will always be part of us, and we would love to see them and hear of their adventures in the years ahead.”

Among the success stories were Isaac Sills (top),  who studied Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport (You Can Do Sport) and will now go on to study sport, exercise science, and coaching at Nottingham Trent University.

Below, Gracie Webster and Paige Jackson celebrating. Gracie has secured a place at Bishop Grosseteste University in Lincoln to study sports coaching and physical education, while Paige has secured a place at The University of Lincoln to study criminology and social policy.
