Volunteers a tonic at Newark Hospital

Share:

Dedicated volunteers at local hospitals have been thanked for reaching significant long-service milestones as they support patients, visitors, and staff.

A total of 135 years’ service by 12 people was celebrated by Sherwood Forest Hospitals Trust, which runs Mansfield Community, Newark, and King’s Mill hospitals.

A spokesperson for the trust said: “From offering a warm welcome and friendly chat to helping people find their way and providing comfort during difficult times, our volunteers make a real difference every day.

“Thank you for your compassion and commitment.”

Among those celebrated for their service at Newark Hospital was Ursula Clifton (above), who has volunteered in outpatients and on the main reception for 30 years.

Pam Weir (pictured top) has helped in radiology for 25 years, while Val Grove (below) has spent 15 years in the Newark Outpatients’ Refreshment Bar and Janet Lord (below) 10 years in Newark Outpatients.

Marking five years’ service were Linda Beedham (Newark Coffee Shop) and Gillian Mitchell (Newark Main Reception).
