Hospice care is the big raffle winner!

Posted onPosted on 16th Jun

The 2026 Beaumond House raffle proved to be one of the hospice’s most successful, raising £10,000 in support of vital care services.

The support of The Barcode Warehouse, Ambitions Personnel, and CF Construction allowed the hospice to offer a range of cash prizes.

The headline prize of £1,500 captured attention and helped record ticket sales across the community.

Money raised from the sale of each ticket will allow Beaumond House to continue providing care and emotional support to patients and their families across the county at one of the most difficult times of their life.

A spontaneous raffle ticket purchase resulted in a big £1,500 win for one local shopper, Newark resident Mike, who won first prize.

He bought the winning ticket during a visit to Ann et Vin, an independent wine shop and wine merchants based in Newark.

“When I got the call, I genuinely thought it might be a small prize, so to hear I’d won £1,500 was a real shock,” he said.

“Having experienced hospice care in other areas, I know how important those services are for families, so it’s great to know that I’ve helped to support something so valuable in the community by taking part.”

Mike later returned to Ann et Vin with a bouquet to thank them.

Chantelle, of Ann et Vin, said: “As a local independent retailer, Ann et Vin is keen to support local charities and has supported Beaumond House in a number of ways over the last few years. We are always happy to help with the raffle by promoting and selling tickets to our customers.

“We’re absolutely thrilled that one of our customers purchased the winning ticket, especially for such a meaningful cause. Supporting our local hospice is something close to all our hearts, and it’s incredible to see the community come together so generously.”

Andrea Ward, individual giving fundraising manager at Beaumond House, added: “The raffle was created as a way to bring the community together while raising vital funds to support our hospice services.

“We’re always looking for accessible ways to get people involved and, at just £1 a ticket, the raffle really is open to all.

“This year, providing care and support to patients and their families is expected to cost Beaumond House a total of £2.8 million. As hospice care isn’t fully funded by the NHS, around £2.2m of this will need to be raised, so initiatives like this make a real difference.”
