Lotto reasons to support hospice!

Posted onPosted on 17th Jan

Beaumond House Hospice Care in Newark has launched a new fundraising initiative in collaboration with Your Charity Lottery.

Money raised will provide supportive palliative care to the people of Newark and Sherwood.

There is the chance to win up to £10,000 through a weekly draw.

For £1 a week per game number, supporters could also claim one of 82 cash prizes on offer every Friday — a first prize of £1,000, 80 prizes of £10, and a rollover prize from £200 up to £10,000.

Matt Colbourne, fundraising manager at Beaumond House Hospice Care, said: “We’re very excited to be offering this new fundraising initiative, which will not only support the charity financially, but also give something back to our supporters.

“Fundraising is vital to the survival of Beaumond House and can be quite challenging. It costs around £2.2m this financial year for us to deliver our services and, as hospice care isn’t fully funded by the NHS, around £1.6m of this must be raised.

“The new lottery will give us a long-term, fun way to raise invaluable funds, at the same time as giving our wonderful supporters the chance to become jackpot prize winners.

“Setting up a lottery can hold a lot of costs and red tape, so a big thank you goes to Your Charity Lottery for their support in providing us with a risk-free fundraising tool — and good luck to everyone who signs up!”

People who sign up before the end of February will be automatically entered into a draw to win a Samsung tablet.

To join, go to www.yourcharitylottery.org.uk or call the Your Charity Lottery office on 0300 330 1500 or request a leaflet from Beaumond House Hospice Care.

Founded in Hull to help a local hospice raise funds, Your Charity Lottery helps organisations to raise funds without the cost of running their own lottery.

While ensuring every draw is legal and compliant, and that all data is secure, Your Charity Lottery looks after player queries and distributes winners’ prizes, as well as producing promotional materials to make it as easy as possible for organisations, like Beaumond House Hospice Care, to run lotteries for fundraising.
