EDITORIAL POLICY
The newspaper will feature positive news. There will be no court or crime or political reporting, and no investigative work that would be critical of public officials or private individuals.
LEGAL
Whenever there is any doubt as to whether a story might be libellous or defamatory, it will be referred to independent legal advice available at the Newspaper Society.
Notebooks containing any interviews will be retained for six years. If an interview is recorded, the interviewee will be made aware that the conversation is being recorded.
ACCURACY
We strive to be 100% accurate first time. We will put right as soon as possible all errors of fact with a correction/clarification as agreed between the editor and the complainant.
STORIES/PHOTOS
All editorial items will be checked and placed by the editor. Submitted items from members of the public will be checked for accuracy before publication.
