Newark’s 776 Gymnastics Academy received the Large Club of the Year and Young Leaders of the Year awards at the annual East Midlands British Gymnastics Awards at Loughborough University.
Having only opened in March 2018, in Mansfield, 776 has gone from strength to strength and now also has a successful club in Newark.
They cater for more than 1,400 gymnasts (some of whom are pictured) with plans to grow further.
776’s main goal is to make gymnastics easily available for children of all ages, regardless of ability, making classes fun and developing each gymnast to the best of their ability.
The club has, however, had a successful couple of years, wining numerous competitions at both general and women’s artistic level. One highlight was some of the Elite gymnasts representing the county at the end of 2019, bringing home gold for Nottinghamshire for the first time in nine years.
In March the Elite squad has been invited to an international training camp in Malta.
